Tottenham fans desperate for De Ligt arrival

Tottenham Hotspur continue to be strongly linked with a move for Ajax teenager Matthijs de Ligt, who is an outstanding young centre-back.

De Ligt is only 18, but made 39 appearances for Ajax’s first team during the 2017-18 campaign, and is seen as perhaps the best teenage centre-back in European football.

Tottenham will do very well to secure the signature of the five-time Netherlands international when considering the list of clubs that are believed to be in the hunt.

Spurs do have a good relationship with Ajax, however, with the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Christian Eriksen and Davinson Sanchez all switching between the two clubs in recent years.

The Tottenham fans reacted to a post on the club’s official Twitter account on Monday by calling for De Ligt to be announced as the first signing of the summer.

It promises to be a very interesting summer when it comes to the future of De Ligt, and the Spurs supporters are desperate for their club to win the race.
